VOLZHSKY, Volgograd Region, February 16 (AVN) - The Volzhsky tube plant will provide India with 20,000t of casing for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), a spokesman for the plant's press service told the Military News Agency on Friday.
An agreement on the matter was reached during negotiations with officials of the Indus Pipeline Company, which supplies tubes to the ONGC.
According to specialists, OGNC needs in oil and gas assortment tubes will considerably increase soon for the Rossneft company has given up its share in the large Sakhailin-1 project in favour of the Indian company. That is how India became one of the participants of the Sakhalin oil field development. The project is estimated at USD12bn.
Recently Indian Ambassador to Russia Satinder Kumar Lambah visited the plant and assured its officials in India's interest towards the tubes.
The plant has been co-operating with India since 1995. It has supplied India with more than 50,000t of casing of the API 5CT standard worth a total of USD22m. The plant also participates in the tender initiated by the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. for the supplies of 116,000t of wrought iron pipe of large diameter for the Salaya-Matura pipeline re-construction. The total volume of the order is some USD100m.
