260 JUNIOR LIEUTENANTS JOIN INTERIOR MINISTRY TROOPS AFTER CRASH COURSE

MOSCOW, February 21 (AVN) - First junior lieutenants graduated from six-month crash courses in the Russian Interior Ministry troops institutes in St. Petersburg, North Caucasus, Novosibirsk and Perm on Wednesday, a spokesman for the troops headquarters told the Military News Agency.

About 260 officers will join the Interior Ministry troops. Most of the graduates have combat experience acquired during the Chechnya campaign and are awarded state orders. The young lieutenants will assume new posts of platoons commanders in the next few days.

The courses are so popular that the institutes have already started to receive applications from professional soldiers and sergeants willing to be enrolled in the next shift.
