KALININGRAD, February 22 (AVN) - The Russian government will consider establishment of a regional air traffic control centre at a Baltic Fleet airfield in the Kaliningrad region on March 22, the fleet's acting commander, Vice Admiral Vladimir Valuyev, said on Thursday.
The air traffic control centre is currently located in Vilnius, capital of Lithuania.
A new centre will be universal, controlling both civil and military flights, Valuyev told the Military News Agency. "Military specialists are not inferior to those who currently control air traffic in the region," he stressed.
The government will devote its entire session to problems of the Kaliningrad region, Russia's westernmost enclave, on March 22.
