MOSCOW, February 22 (AVN) - President Vladimir Putin held a session of the Russian Security Council on Thursday to discuss strengthening of the country's export control system, a high-ranking official of the council told the Military News Agency.
Russia's political leaders always pay attention to export control, the official said. The country needs a control system that would ensure national security by preventing export of sensitive technologies that can be used in development of weapons of mass destruction, their transportation means and other weapons that pose a threat to Russia's national security, he said.
Besides, the system should defend Russia's interests on international markets of arms and dual-purpose products, the official stressed.
