KHANKALA, February 19 (AVN) - Officers of temporary interior departments have conducted 27 search and preventive operations in Chechnya in the past 24 hours, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry department in Chechnya told the Military News Agency on Friday.
Officers have checked 35,714 people and 17,217 vehicles, found 250 administrative offences, including 76 violations of passport regime, confiscated four assault rifles, four pistols, a hunting rifle, two mines, 29 hand grenades and grenade launcher rounds, 2,714 cartridges and 1.9kg of explosives and also destroyed six illegal oil refineries.
Border guards of an outpost in the Urus-Martan district have found a wounded rebel in a car stopped for a check, the spokesman said. An UAZ vehicle with local policemen touched off a landmine near the town of Kurchaloi, but no casualties were registered.
Rebels attacked a KamAZ truck with policemen in the town of Argun when the truck approached the bridge across the Dzhalka river. Two policemen were wounded. Two landmines were found 100 meters far from the bridge during following mop-up operations.
