MOSCOW, February 23 (AVN) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov has allowed the Foreign Ministry to make a single contribution to the International Fund for the Clearing of the Danube Riverbed Channel, the Military News Agency learned on Friday.
Russia's contribution to the fund amounts to USD100,000. The money will be provided out of the funds evisaged by the International Activity section of the 2001 federal budget. The section envisages funds for the Finance Ministry's contributions to international organisations.
The Danube riverbed channel became effectively unnavigable after the NATO strikes on Yugoslavia.
