LAW-ENFORCERS CARRY OUT 22 SEARCH, PREVENTIVE OPS IN CHECHNYA

KHANKALA, February 26 (AVN) - Officers of temporary police departments have conducted 22 search and preventive operations in Chechnya in the past 24 hours, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry department for Chechnya told the Military News Agency on Monday.

Officers checked 40,350 people and 12,146 vehicles, registered 510 administrative offences including 74 violations of passport regime, confiscated a grenade launcher, a Kalashnikov assault rifle, 10 hand grenades, 36 various grenade launcher rounds, seven artillery shells, three mortar mines, two aviation bombs, 1,518 cartridges for small arms, 4.5kg of TNT and 0.5kg of drug substances and destroyed nine illegal oil refineries.

Law-enforcers have found a rebel cache with a grenade launcher and 11 grenades in an abandoned house in the Vedeno district of Chechnya.
