KHANKALA, February 26 (AVN) - The Chechen government met at 10.00 Moscow time (0700GMT) on Monday to discuss the detection of two mass burials on the south-eastern outskirts of Grozny, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.
The two mined burials were found on February 22 by local residents. About 30 human remains were taken from the burials by 20.00 Moscow time (1700 GMT) on Sunday. Preliminary examination showed that the buried people had been shot.
The Chechen prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case to investigate the matter. Chechnya administrator Akhmat Kadyrov confirmed that he would control the investigation himself.
