MOSCOW, February 26 (AVN) - A Moscow court trying the case of journalist Dmitry Kholodov's murder is hearing the testomonies of former airborne commander Colonel-General Yevgeny Podkolozin at the Matrosskaya Tishina detention centre, the Military News Agency learned.
Six people are charged with murder, including Colonel Pavel Popovskykh, former reconnaissance chief of the airborne troops.
Former defence minister Army General Pavel Grachev testified in court for over an hour. The trial is held behind closed doors, and journalists were not allowed in the courtroom. They were awaiting for Grachev at the main entrance but he left through the backdoor.
Grachev was summoned to court to comment on his 1993 statement allegedly stressing the need to "get even" with Kholodov. The investigation believes thinks that the statement could have perceived as an order by Grachev's subordinates.
Grachev's former press secretary Elena Agapova did not show up in the courtroom in spite of being summoned for the second time.
