30 SERVICEMEN KIA IN CHECHNYA BURIED IN MOSCOW REGION

MOSCOW, February 26 (AVN) - The bodies of 30 unidentified servicemen killed during the Chechnya campaign of 1994-1996 were buried at the Bogorodskoe cemetary in the Moscow region on Monday, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry told the Military News Agency.

The funeral was attended by Colonel-General Vladimir Isakov, Armed Forces rear commander and deputy defence minister, Colonel-General Vitaly Azarov, head of the Defence Ministry's political work department and officials of Russian President Vladimir Putin's administration.

According to the spokesman, 30 more servicemen killed in the North Caucasus will be buried in a week. The Defence Ministry's 124th central laboratory of medical and criminalistic identification in Rostov-on-Don continues identifing two more unknown servicemen.
