ST.PETERSBURG, February 26 (AVN) - An assault rifle desiged by Tula designer Yuri Danilov has passed tests at the Defence Ministry's central test range, a participant of the tests told the Military News Agency on Monday.
The assault rifle boasts excellent performance both under water and outside it.
The effective range under water is 2-plus times greater than that of the APS now in service with the special forces, while its service life is 1,000 times as big.
Accuracy of hits under water outclassed that of the Kalashnikov's and American M-16's performance displayed in the open air, although these two weapons are commonly regarded as standards with respect to accuracy.
After the tests Danilov's assault rifle was recommended for series production.
