KIEV, February 27 (AVN) - The Ukrainian government has prepared a resolution to provide UAH309,000 (RUR1.6m) worth of welfare to the blood relatives of the sunken Kursk sub's crewmembers, who live in Ukraine, Yuri Klimanov, president of the Zakhist All-Ukrainian public organisation, told the Military News Agency on Tuesday.
According to Klimanov, the decision to prepare the document was taken at the meeting of the Kursk submariners' family members with Ukrainian authorities. The meeting was organised on the initiative of Zakhist. Present at the meeting were Defence Minister Alexander Kuzmuk, Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Dubina, Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Ivan Aboimov, diplomats from Belarus, Great Britain and Norway, as well as representative of the Black Sea Fleet headquarters Rear Admiral Yuri Nichik. Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma send a special address to the participants of the event.
