GROZNY, March 1 (AVN) - The restoration of the 100m bridge across the Sunzha River at the Gudermes - Chervlyonnaya-uzlovaya railway span is postponed from March 1 to about March 10-15, a spokesman for the railway troops group in Chechnya told the Military News Agency.
The delay is caused by poor funding of the works by the Russian Railway Ministry which ordered the bridge restoration. Moreover, mining rebel groups have scaled up their activities in the area, hampering supplies of repairing equipment and materials.
Railroad troops units and formations stationed in Chechnya have restored 17km of railway tracks, found and defused 1,800 explosive devices since the beginning of the anti-guerrilla operation. Special trains broke in about 9,000km of tracks. The troops also convoyed 14,000 civil and military trains.
