PRANK CALLER DETAINED IN MOSCOW REGION

ZVYOZDNY, Moscow Region, March 7 (AVN) - The prosecutor's office of the Shchelkovsky district in the Moscow region brought an action against Yevgeny Kozachuk, a pedagogical colledge student and a suspected prank caller, Lieutenant-Colonel Valery Ponomaryov, deputy head of an Interior Ministry department, told the Military News Agency on Wednesday.

Preliminary investigation found out that Kozachuk had called Klavdia Shubicheva, director of a secondary school in Zvyozdny, and said that an explosive device was planted in the school. Policemen of the town beleaguered the school and evacuated 800 pupils and 40 teachers. However sappers did not found the device during a thorough search.

Kozachuk was detained during search operations held jointly by the police and the Federal Security Service (FSB). After preliminary investigation he was released under recognisance not to leave.
