MOSCOW, March 7 (AVN) - Russian Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev is to meet first deputy chief-of-staff of the Iranian army Division General Golalali Rashid here on Wednesday afternoon, a spokesman for the Russian Defence Ministry told the Military News Agency.
The two officials are expected to discuss development of the Russian-Iranian military and technical co-operation, including purchase terms of Russian air defence systems, SU-25 Frogfoot bombers and patrol motor boats for the Iranian Navy.
Iran is also interested in modernisation of 35 MIG-29 Fulcrum planes and 24 SU-24 Fencer planes used by its Air Force, the spokesman said. Despite the variety of the Iranian aircraft park those planes have a special place in the Air Force, and Iranian experts consider them the best. The Iranian military aviation has a total of over 1,350 aircraft.
