RUSSIAN NAVY DETACHMENT TO RETURN TO VLADIVOSTOK FROM INDIA, VIETNAM

VLADIVOSTOK, March 7 (AVN) - A Russian vessel detachment comprising the Admiral Vinogradov and Admiral Panteleyev anti-submarine ships and the Vladimir Kolechitsky tanker will return from a sea voyage soon, a spokesman for the Pacific Fleet headquarters told the Military News Agency on Wednesday.

The detachment is led by the Pacific Fleet deputy commander, Vice Admiral Alexander Konev. Currently the detachment is in Vietnam at the docks of Russian Cam Ranh naval base and plans to officially visit the Ho Chi Minh seaport on March 12-16.

The detachment left Vladivostok on January 15. After crossing the Pacific and Indian Oceans the vessels arrived at the Bombay port on February 14 and participated in the international naval parade devoted to the 50th anniversary of India's independence. Then the vessels left from Bombay to Vietnam.

The detachment will head for Vladivostok after the official visit to Ho Chi Minh.
