FED AIRCRAFT ATTACK ALPINE GUERRILLA BASE, REBEL GROUPS

KHANKAKA, March 11 (AVN) - Federal SU-25 Frogfoot attack planes have flown six sorties in Chechnya in the past 24 hours, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency on Sunday.

The planes attacked an alpine rebel base and set up debris on mountain routes. MI-24 Hind helicopters launched three attacks on small rebel groups detected earlier by scout parties. Moreover MI-24 accomplished four recce missions and escorted five military convoys.

MI-8 Hip and MI-26 Halo transportation helis airlifted over 50 people and 2t of cargo in the interests of the military and Chechnya's civil administration.

AN-12 Cub and AN-26 Curl military transports delivered to Mozdok, the main federal military base in the North Caucasus, and took back to central Russia about 150 servicemen and 5t of cargo.
