AIR FORCE CHIEF TO INSPECT LENINGRAD, N.CAUCASUS MILITARY DISTRICTS

MOSCOW, March 11 (AVN) - Air Force Commander Anatoly Kornukov and a group of officers of his staff will start a working trip through Air Force and Air Defence units stationed in the Leningrad and North Caucasus military districts on Sunday, a spokesman for the Air Force Staff told the Military News Agency.

The main aim of the trip is to inspect combat and mobilisation readiness of the units. Kornukov will also visit several aircraft enterprises located in St. Petersburg as well as the Rosvertol helicopter plant in Rostov-on-Don.

The trip will end on Wednesday.

While Kornukov is away, his deputy Colonel-General Vladimir Mikhailov will be acting Air Force commander.
