ROSTOV-ON-DON, March 11 (AVN) - An artillery rocket brigade of the North Caucasus military district will hold an exercise in the Astrakhan region from March 12 to 22, a spokesman for the district headquarters said on Sunday.
The exercise will involve about 300 reserve servicemen residing in the Astrakhan and the neighbouring Volgograd regions, the spokesman told the Military News Agency. The final stage of the training will feature practical missile launches and live firing. The manoeuvres are overseen by the head of the district's missile troops and artillery, Major-General Yuri Slesarev.
The brigade is commanded by Colonel Igor Bashkunov.
