FED HELIS ESCORT 7 MILITARY CONVOYS, ATTACK TARGETS IN CHECHNYA

KHANKALA, March 13 (AVN) - Federal SU-25 Frogfoot attack planes have flown three, AN-30 Clank scout one and choppers over 30 sorties in Chechnya since Monday, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.

MI-24 Hind and KA-50 Hokum close support helicopters escorted seven military convoys and attacked several targets in the mountains. MI-8 Hip multipurpose choppers accomplished four visual reconnaissance missions, their transport versions and MI-26 Halo heavy-lift helis carried 54 people and over 2t of cargo in the interests of the military and civilian administration.

Two IL-76 Candid military transports airlifted about 400 servicemen and 3t of cargo from the area of operations to central Russia.
