VLADIVOSTOK, March 13 (AVN) - Local hotel Hende will host a two-day meeting of experts in multilateral border co-operation in the north-western region of the Pacific Ocean on Wednesday, a spokesman for the Pacific regional border guard department told the Military News Agency.
The meeting will be attended by delegations from Russia, the USA, Japan and South Korea headed by deputy chiefs of border guard services of the participating nations, namely Colonel General Nikolai Reznichenko, first deputy director of the Russian Federal Border Guard Service, Lee Kung-woo, deputy commissioner of the Korea National Maritime Police Agency, Asai Hiroshi, deputy chief of the Japanese Maritime Safety Agency, and Rear Admiral Thomas Barrett, commander of the US 17th Coast Guard District.
Presidential envoy to the Far Eastern federal district Lieutenant General Konstantin Pulikovsky and acting Governor of the Maritime territory Valentin Dubinin are expected to participate in the opening session. The experts are to discuss co-operation and combating illegal activity at sea, as well as drug, arms and biological resources smuggling.
