KHANKALA, March 14 (AVN) - Federal forces have registered 17 attacks on their positions and installations in Chechnya, including six in Grozny, during the past 24 hours, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency on Wednesday.
Engineering formations finished clearance of Grozny's Severny airfield, from where a TU-134 Crusty is to leave on a test charter flight to Moscow on March 20. Military sappers managed to disarm four powerful landmines on Chechen motorways on Tuesday.
Federal scouting parties destroyed several blindages and caches, including one with food and foreign medicines during search operations in Chechen forests and mountains. One of the group killed three rebels and exploded two cars hidden by guerrillas in a forest during a brief clash.
