MOSCOW, March 15 (AVN) - A delegation of the Ukrainian Air Force led by Air Force Commander Viktor Strelnikov will visit Moscow from April 10 to 12, a spokesman for the Russian Defence Ministry said on Thursday.
The delegation is planning to meet Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev, Chief-of-Staff Anatoly Kvashnin and Air Force Commander Anatoly Kornukov to discuss speeding up conclusion of the agreement on elimination and return of aircraft under repairs at military enterprises of the two nations, the spokesman told the Military News Agency.
The parties will also work out proposals on import of spare parts and repair systems from Russia under the auspices of the Russian-Ukrainian intergovernmental agreement "Concerning Industrial, Research and Technical Co-operation between Defence Industry Enterprises" of November 18, 1999. They will consider proposals on modernisation of aircraft in the Ukrainian Air Force's inventory and ways of co-operation in extension of aircraft service life. Exchange of opinion in the sphere of Air Force specialists training is also on the agenda.
Delegation members will visit several units of the Russian Air Force, the town of Zvyozdny in the Moscow region, the Gagarin Air Force Academy and several defence industry enterprises.
