POLICEMEN ELIMINATE THREE CACHES IN CHECHNYA IN PAST 24 HOURS

KHANKALA, April 4 (AVN) - Chechen policemen have carried out 17 search and preventive operations during the past 24 hours, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry department for Chechnya told the Military News Agency on Wednesday.

Policemen checked 14,376 citizens and 15,533 vehicles, exposed 1,477 administrative offences, including 149 passport rules violations. They seized three grenade launchers, three assault rifles, five pistols, 10 hunting rifles, 60 various grenade launcher rounds, 34 hand grenades, 17 artillery shells, six mortar mines, an aviation bomb, an anti-personnel mine, 13,192 small arms cartridges and 102.2 kg TNT. Besides, 56 illegal oil refineries were exposed and eliminated.

Policemen destroyed an arms cache in the Borzoi village which was located in the mosque. The cache contained a grenade launcher, 10 grenades, a Mukha flame thrower, five assault rifles and over 1,000 cartridges. Law-enforcers also seized 10 hand grenades, a grenade launcher, eight grenade launcher rounds and a TNT charge from a cache in Gudermes and eliminated a cache with 26 grenade launcher rounds and 800 small arms cartridges in the Assinovskaya village in the Urus-Martan district.
