FEDS KILL 2 GUERRILLAS, DETAIN 15 SUSPECTED REBELS SINCE WEDNESDAY

KHANKAKA, April 5 (AVN) - Chechen rebels have launched three attacks on federal positions in Grozny since Wednesday, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.

There were no casualties among federals, but rebels are believed to have lost two men killed.

As many as 2,120 people, 1,429 vehicles and 326 houses were checked and 15 suspected rebels were detained in the past 24 hours, the spokesman said. Federals also defused six landmines and seized six assault rifles, three hunting rifles, 23 hand grenades, four 122 mm artillery shells, 3.6kg of TNT and 5,125 cartridges were seized.
