OFFICIALS HOLD SESSION ON LIFE RESTORATION IN CHECHNYA

GROZNY, April 6 (AVN) - The unified federal headquarters in the North Caucasus has hosted a meeting of the group's commanders, officials of the Federal Security Service (FSB) and Interior Ministry departments for Chechnya, Grozny central commandant's office, leadership of Grozny and district administrations, a spokesman for the Grozny mayor's office told the Military News Agency on Friday.

The session participants discussed peaceful life restoration and progress of re-construction works in Grozny. Among the main problems are lack of money and poor coordination of actions between law-enforcement bodies and the city authorities. Endless acts of terror in Grozny are caused by low efficiency of law-enforcers, the federal troops commander, Lieutenant-General Valery Baranov, said.

The participants boarded a helicopter for an hour-long flight over Grozny to determine the installations to be rebuilt on the top-priority basis. The list includes bakeries, power stations and communication centres.
