RUSSIAN, CHINESE OFFICIALS TO DISCUSS BORDER GUARD CO-OPERATION

MOSCOW, April 19 (AVN) - A delegation of the Chinese Ministry of National Defence led by Deputy Minister Zhao Yong Ji will arrive in Moscow on an official visit on Thursday at the invitation of Russian Federal Border Guard Service (FBGS) Director Konstantin Totsky, an FBGS spokesman told the Military News Agency.

During meetings and consultations the two officials will discuss situation at checkpoints on the Russia-China border checkpoints, co-operation between the FBGS and the Chinese ministry in prevention of illegal activities on the border, especially in the sphere of illegal migration, arms and drug smuggling. They will also discuss prospects of Chinese border guard bodies' participation in multilateral border guard co-operation in the North-western Pacific.

Besides, the delegation will visit the FBGS north-western regional department to study the work of the Brusnichnoye checkpoint in the town of Vyborg and the department's national border guard co-ordination centre.
