MINSK, April 27 (AVN) - A boat group of the Belarussian border guard troops that guards the Belarus-Ukraine frontier strap along the Dnieper and Sozh Rivers has got a new Gepard air cushion boat, a spokesman for Belarussian border guard troops committee told the Military News Agency on Friday.
The vessel is 7.2m long and 3.8m wide. It is equipped with a ZMZ-53 petrol engine with the capacity of 120hp. Its maximum speed is 65km per hour and range 200km. The crew consists of a boat navigator and three members of the examining group.
The boat was made by the Svirskaya Sudoverf shipyard in the Leningrad region. It is the third ship of this type, shipped to Belarus in accordance with the contract, which envisages construction of five Gepard boats by the shipyard. The cost of one boat makes RUR600,000 (USD20,730). The term of the contract implementation is late 2001.
