PERM, Eastern European Russia, April 28 (AVN) - The Aviadvigatel JS has shipped the second of two engines for S-37 Berkut experimental plane to the Sukhoi aircraft corporation, a spokesman for the JS administration told the Military News Agency on Saturday.
The engines underwent preventive inspection and tests before the shipping, the spokesman said.
The Perm engines are a modification of the D-30F6 serial engine mounted on MIG-31Foxhound interceptors. S-37 has flown some 100 sorties to date. Its developers have had no claims to the plane's performance so far. Berkut is the world's only swept-forward fighter.
