KHANKALA, April 28 (AVN) - The Urus-Martan district military commandant's office headed by Colonel Gaidar Gadzhiyev is considered to be the best in Chechnya this month, Major General Alexander Tretyakov, acting military commandant of the Chechen republic, told a meeting here on Saturday.
The Achkhoi-Martan and Itum-Kale military commandant's offices are the next on the list for they are a bit inferior in combat readiness, military discipline and combat operations results, Tretyakov said.
This month officers of the Urus-Martan military commandant's office have carried out 43 special operations, checked 70,152 vehicles, detained 32 rebels, detected 24 crimes, prevented 91 administrative offences, confiscated 22 assault rifles, 24 grenade launchers, nine hunting rifles, 17 machine-guns, 15 152mm artillery shells, 40 mortar shells, 160 hand grenades, 21,000 cartridges and 4.7kg of drugs. Besides, they eliminated 36 illegal oil refineries.
