RF PM ORDERS TO ELABORATE PROGRAMME ON DEFENCE INDUSTRY REFORM, DEVELOPMENT

MOSCOW, May 7 (AVN) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov has signed a regulation on development of the federal purpose-oriented programme aimed at reform and development of the defence industry for the period up to 2010, a spokesman for the governmental administration said on Monday.

The programme will be developed by the Ministry of Industry, Science and Technologies together with the Ministries of Economic Development, Finance, Defence, Property Relations, Atomic Energy, Russian Aviation and Space Agency, Russian Agencies of Ammunition, Conventional Arms, Control Systems and Ship-building. The programme's draft will be sent to the government in the second quarter of 2001.

The Ministry of Industry, Science and Technologies will be the state customer and co-ordinator of the programme while the Ministry of Atomic Energy, Russian Aviation and Space Agency, Russian Agencies of Ammunition, Conventional Arms, Control Systems and Ship-building will be the state customers.
