PYATIGORSK, North Caucasus, May 21 (AVN) - Four federal servicemen released from the Chechen captivity have arrived at the North Caucasus operations co-ordination department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in Pyatigorsk, sources in the department told the Military News Agency.
Active duty servicemen Maxim Karavayev, Vladimir Shevelev, Vyacheslav Voznyuk and Oleg Sukhorukov were kidnapped from various military units stationed in Chechnya in different periods of time, the sourcess said. The first to be kidnapped was Voznyuk, who became a hostage on October 5, 1999.
The ex-captives will stay in Pyatigorsk for a while, as their testimony may be of assistance to the FSB in further search operations aimed against criminal gangs that specialise in Kidnapping.
