KHANKALA, May 23 (AVN) - Federal SU-25 Frogfoot attack planes flew two sorties in Chechnya on Tuesday in order to hammer targets exposed by reconnaissance, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.
MI-24 Hind close support helicopters accomplished three sorties to survey the area along the bed of the Bass River in the Chechen foothills, the spokesman said. They destroyed two masked oil refineries near the village of Malye Varandy.
MI-8 Hip and MI-26 Halo military transport helicopters airlifted 59 people and about 9t of cargo in the interests of the federal troops and at the requests of local administrations. IL-76 Candid, AN-26 Curl and AN-12 Cub planes transported 287 servicemen and over 10t of technical cargo to Mozdok, the main federal base in the North Caucasus, and back to central Russia.
