TUAPSE, Russian Black Sea Coast, June 5 (AVN) - A conference devoted to maintenance of security in recreation areas during the holiday season opened here on Tuesday, the Military News Agency learned.
The conference involves heads of police departments of southern Russian regions, heads of city and district police departments on the Mineralnye Vody area and the Black Sea coast. It is chaired by Colonel-General Ivan Golubev, deputy interior minister of the Russian Federation.
Colonel Vladimir Silantyev, police chief of the Mineralnye Vody area, and Major General Alexander Sysoyev, deputy head of the Stavropol territory police department, will deliver detailed reports at the conference.
The law-enforcers are expected to analyse the first results of the Resort 2001 preventive operation that was launched in accordance with the interior minister's order dated May 15. The operation will be in progress from June to October.
The police chiefs are also planning to work out a set of preventive measures aimed at protection of maintenance of security and order in resort areas. One of the law-enforcers' main missions is to prevent terrorist acts and hostage-taking.
