43 PEOPLE BANNED FROM CROSSING BORDER IN NORTH CAUCASUS SINCE MONDAY

STAVROPOL, June 5 (AVN) - Russian border guards have banned 43 people from crossing the border on various reasons since Monday, a spokesman for the North Caucasus regional border guard department told the Military News Agency.

Particularly, border guards of the Yarag-Kazmalyar checkpoint detained Vakhid Kariyev, Azerbaijani citizen, who produced an invalid passport, at 1.00 Moscow time on Tuesday (2100 GMT on Monday). Several hours later border guards detained Basirat Kutayeva, resident of the Dagestani town of Kaspiysk who attempted to cross the Russia-Azerbaijan border with an alien passport.

Patrols of the Caspian border guard detachments detained four poachers and confiscated three boats, three boat engines, almost 1km of poacher nets and 14 sturgeons weighing a total of 150kg.

In general the situation in the department's area of responsibility remains quite calm, the spokesman said. No attacks border checkpoints have been registered on the Chechen and adjacent border sections.
