RF COMPANY TO MAKE ON-BOARD EQUIPMENT FOR LICENSED SU-27SK PLANES IN CHINA

ST.PETERSBURG, June 5 (AVN) - The Aerospace Equipment corporation and the Rosoboronexport state-owned arms trader concluded the contract on production of on-board aircraft equipment sets for China, a spokesman for the corporation administration told the Military News Agency on Tuesday.

The contract value is estimated at almost USD200m.

The supplies will take place under the auspices of a general contract on licensed production of SU-27SK Flanker multifunctional fighters by the Chinese aircraft industry. Taking the contact into account the Rosoboronexport company's stock of orders currently amounts at almost USD1bn while it was no more than USD375m in September 2000. According to corporation specialists, the stock will rise by USD150m to 200m by the end of the year thanks to signing new contracts.

Particularly, the company is considering supplies of spare parts worth USD50m to 55m to India, production of new radars for 32 SU-30MKE Flanker planes that will be assembled in India together with the Irkutsk Aircraft Production Association (IAPO) worth USD65m, development of new SUV-30 arms control system and modernisation of SU-27 planes for the Russian Air Force.
