KHANKALA, June 6 (AVN) - Federal positions and installations in Chechnya came under fire nine times on Tuesday, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.
Federals detained 14 people on suspicion of involvement in guerrilla gangs and 22 people for various offences during special operations, the spokesman said.
Three demolition men were blocked when planting a landmine in the Chishki village, the spokesman went on. Several warning shots made the rebels lay down arms and surrender to the federals.
Two guerrillas were killed in a brief engagement on the outskirts of the Eshiulkhotoi village in the Vedeno district. Two caches with arms, ammo and communication means were destroyed near the Roshni-Chu village.
