KEY POSTS IN LAND FORCES COMMAND TO BE FILLED BY JULY 1

MOSCOW, June 6 (AVN) - The structure and manning table of the recently restored Land Forces command will be generally elaborated by July 1 this year, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry said on Wednesday.

Appointments to the key posts in the command are expected to be made by the same date, the spokesman told the Military News Agency.

President Vladimir Putin appointed Lieutenant General Alexander Skorodumov head of the Land Forces main combat training department on Tuesday. Skorodumov's previous post was deputy commander of the Siberian military district.

Lieutenant General Alexander Morozov, commander of the 41st army, has been nominated for Land Forces chief-of-staff. The 41st army is being disbanded. Its units and formations have been stationed in Siberia.

The Land Forces command is responsible for state, development and application of this armed service.
