BORDER GURDS DETAIN 14 VIOLATORS ON DUSHANBE-MOSCOW TRAIN

STAVROPOL, June 7 (AVN) - Border guards of the Askaraisk-Zheleznodorozhny checkpoint detained 14 people on the Dushanbe-Moscow train at about 03.00 Moscow time on Thursday (2300 GMT on Wednesday) for attempting to enter Russia without necessary documents, a spokesman for the North Caucasus regional border guard department said.

Almost all detainees claimed that their IDs were stolen from them on the train, the spokesman told the Military News Agency. The persons are being identified.

Another violator, Azerbaijani citizen Azim Magomedov, was detained by a patrol of the Akhtynsky border guard detachment. According to Magomedov, he was heading for another village to discuss pasturing the cattle near the Dagestani border.

Border guards of the Caspian naval brigade and patrols of the Caspian border guard detachment confiscated from poachers three motor boats, three boat engines, 4.3km of nets and almost 100kg of sturgeons overnight to Thursday.

In general, the situation in the department's area of responsibility remains quite calm, the spokesman said. No attacks on the Chechen and adjacent border sections were registered.
