ST.PETERSBURG, June 7 (AVN) - The Poisk R&D Institute, Russia's oldest developer and producer of fuses, will host the fourth all-Russian Research and Technical Conference on June 14 and 15, a spokesman for the institute said on Thursday.
The conference is organised by the Russian Ammunition Agency, the spokesman told the Military News Agency. It is devoted to pressing problems related to development of autonomous and management systems designed on the basis of high-energy condensed materials.
The main aims and missions of the conference are defined in line with government resolutions of defence industry restructuring, the Armament Development Programme for the period until 2010 and interests of national security in the 21st century. Participants of the events will discuss the main problems in this sphere of technology, development and introduction of new technologies, main directions of fundamental and applied research in adjacent spheres of science and technology.
According to Poisk specialists, importance of the issues to be under consideration has drawn attention of many Russian scientists and businessmen. For instance, development of new-generation fuses with elements of artificial intellect that are immune to accidental or intentional influence of technogenic, natural and human, including terrorist, factors, has been considered at a session of the Risk and Security working group under the Russian Academy of Sciences. The group is led by Academician Konstantin Frolov.
A news briefing will be held after the conference on June 15. It will be attended by Zinovy Pak, director general of the Russian Ammunition Agency, Academician Vladimir Kireyev, president of the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences, Mikhail Mikhailovsky, deputy governor of St. Petersburg, Nikolai Makarovets, director general of the Splav research and production enterprise, Leonid Yegorenkov, director general of the Poisk enterprise, and officials of the Leningrad military district command.
