SIBERIAN FEDERAL DISTRICT COUNCIL TO DISCUSS LOCAL DEFENCE INDUSTRY

NOVOSIBIRSK, June 8 (AVN) - The Siberian federal district council will hold a session devoted to local defence industry challenges in the city of Omsk, Southern Siberia, on Saturday under chairmanship of Leonid Drachevsky, Russian President Vladimir Putin's envoy to the district, a spokesman for the Drachevsky administration said.

The session will involve Vladimir Rushailo, Russian security council secretary, Colonel General Vladimir Boldyrev, commander of the Siberian military district, as well as leaders of the district's defence industry enterprises, the spokesman told the Military News Agency. The session participants also plan to attend the VTTV-Omsk 2001 international arms show.

The event will end at a tank proving range where the demonstration of exhibited pieces of arms and military equipment is to take place.
