CRIMINALS STEAL ARMS, AMMO FROM MILITARY ARSENAL IN RUSSIAN FAR EAST

KOMSOMOLSK-ON-AMUR, Russian Far East, June 9 (AVN) - Three criminals disjointed a brick wall, broke into a guarded stock of a local Defence Ministry unit and stole a lot of arms and ammo there, a spokesman for the local police department told the Military News Agency on Saturday.

Four members of the criminal group were detained hot on the trail, the spokesman said. Among them was an active duty serviceman of the unit.

Policemen found 12,960 5.45mm cartridges and 60 RGN hand grenades with fuses in the country house belonging to one of the detainees. The investigators also found 16 RPG018 Mukha grenade launchers, two Igla portable SAM systems, two Fagot antitank guided missiles, 40 RGN hand grenades and 142,560 5.45mm cartridges in a cache located in a forest 150m from the house.

The criminal case was launched and investigation is in progress.
