UKRAINE HOSTING TRAINING OF RAILWAY TROOPS

CHERNIGOV, Ukraine, June 18 (AVN) - A three-day training session of the railway troops specialists from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia will end here on Monday, a spokesman for the railway troops training centre of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry told the Military News Agency.

The session takes place on the basis of the centre. The Russian delegation is led by Lieutenant General Anatoly Veremeyev, chief of the federal railway service's HR department and the Belarussian one by Colonel Gennady Klyuka, deputy chief of the Belarussian railway troops in charge of the rear. The training is supervised by Major General Nikolai Malkov, chief of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry railway troops.

The session participants visited a separate pontoon-bridge battalion stationed in the suburbs of Chernigov where they studied organisation of the personnel combat and special training. The main events of the session such as a round table discussion on sharing experience in training specialists for the troops and an exhibition of special equipment took place in the 8th separate railway regiment stationed here. The participants also examined the base for training divers and the divers' practical descents.
