MOSCOW, June 18 (AVN) - The Zelenodolsk shipyard in the Tatarstan autonomous republic will hand over two Terrier high-speed boats to the North Caucasus regional border guard department in autumn this year, a spokesman for the sea guard department of the Federal Border Guard Service said on Monday.
The boats will patrol the Volga River mouth, the spokesman told the Military News Agency. Two Terrier boats for the Amir border guard flotilla are being made by the Khabarovsk shipyard. It handed over two boats of that type to Far Eastern border guards last year.
The Terrier is a Project 14170 vessel developed by the Zelenodolsk design bureau. The motor boat is intended for patrolling rivers, lakes and shallow coastal areas. With the displacement of 8.3t it can reach the speed of 70km per hour. The cruising range is 300km. The crew consists of two people.
