BAZALT ENTERPRISE PRODUCES NEW OG-7V OSKOLOK ACTIVE JET GRENADE

MOSCOW, June 18 (AVN) - The local Bazalt state research and production enterprise completed the state tests of the OG-7V Oskolok active jet grenade to the RPG-7V1 40mm portable antitank grenade launcher, enterprise's Chief Constructor Pavel Sidrov told the Military News Agency on Monday.

The corresponding documents on the grenade commissioning to the Russian Armed Forces are being prepared.

The grenade is completely unified with basis models not of the hollow charge but of the fragmental performance and permits to hit the enemy's manpower on the territory of 240 square metres. The grenade is especially effective in conducting combat operations in the conditions of housing and industrial building and the cross-country territory. The grenade's peculiarities including those of its range are comparable to the small arms while the efficiency of hitting manpower due to mass separation of fragments is several times higher. The grenade's weight is 2kg. Together with the TG-7VL Luch hollow charge, PG-7VR Rezume hollow charge tandem and TBG-7V Tanin high-explosive thermobaric grenades transformed the grenade launcher and its specifications into the close combat weapon.

The rounds to the grenade launcher will be proposed to foreign customers through the Rosoboronexport state-owned arms trader, Sidrov said.
