BUSINESSMEN, GOVT STRIVE FOR ADEQUATE RELATIONS -- INDUSTRIALIST

MOSCOW, June 22 (AVN) - The 12th congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs laid the main stress on establishment of adequate relations between the authorities and the business community, Boris Kuzyk, director general of the New Programmes and Concepts holding industrial company, said on Friday.

Kuzyk was asked by the Military News Agency to comment on the results of the congress, where the main issue for discussion was the union's tasks in the conditions of the national economy reform. Kuzyk was elected to the drafting commission that finalised basic documents of the congress.

"Considerable changes have occurred to the relations (between the business and the governing bodies), and it is very important. The emerging relations acquire the shape of a civilised and constructive dialogue between the Russian president, legislative and executive powers on one side, and the business community that undergoes dynamic changes in composition and structure, on the other side," the director said.

"The framework of political stability, establishment of single rules of the game, strengthening of the legislative basis and other spheres of government activity have a positive influence on solution of such pressing problems as improvement of the state's tax policy, restructuring of natural monopolies, Russia's admission to the World Trade Organisation, formation of a civilised market, creation of a favourable investment climate in our country. A constructive dialogue between the authorities and prominent entrepreneurs that are members of the union is embodied in real and specific states. And this inspires optimism," Kuzyk stressed.

The director also said that after the congress he had met and negotiated with several Russian businessmen on issues of mutual interest.
