KHANKALA, June 26 (AVN) - The correspondent federal bodies may take a decision to give the Vozrozhdeniye paper the republican status in the near future, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency on Tuesday.
The paper is currently published by employees of the military commandant's office in Chechnya. The paper is proposed to be issued in the form of tabloid, like the Izvestiya paper, with 273,000 circulation and to be delivered to every Chechen house, the spokesman said.
At present the Vozrozhdeniye paper is a kind of appendix to the Vestnik Yuga Rossii (Mercury of Southern Russia) paper of the North Caucasus military district, and it is issued as quarto with the circulation of about 10,000 papers. Serious investment, establishment of a solid editorial office and transference of the edition to the modern printing base will need to change the status of the paper.
