FED BOMBERS HAMMER REBEL CAMP IN CHECHNYA

KHANKALA, June 27 (AVN) - Federal SU-24 Fencer frontline bombers inflicted two strikes on a rebel camp 30km south of Chechnya's Khatuni village on Tuesday, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.

Army aviation helicopters flew over 100 sorties, convoying transport helicopters, providing fire support to ground troops, landing airborne parties and transporting personnel and cargoes, the spokesman said. MI-24 Hind fire support helicopters destroyed three guerrilla gangs, one 3km south of Eshilkhotoi, another 8km south of Dachu-Borzoi and the third 2km south-east of Grozny.

MI-8 Hip and MI-26 Halo airlifted over 400 people and 29t of cargo.
