KIEV, June 28 (AVN) - The Antonov aircraft research and technical enterprise resumed the works on development of the second summer variant of the AN-225 Mria transport plane which is the most powerful in the world, Vladimir Gorbulin, chairman of the Ukrainian state commission on defence industry issues, said on Thursday.
The plane's fuselage is practically completed, Gorbulin told the Military News Agency.
After the plane's demonstration at the Paris Air Show the interest towards it considerably improved, enterprise's Constructor General Oleg Bogdanov said. The number of orders on the transportation of wide-scale and heavy-tonnage cargo amounts at several hundred ones. There are still no concrete agreements for each order needs to be thoroughly thought. When returning from the Paris Air Show the plane delivered a batch of humanitarian cargo from France to Ukraine.
