INTL TRAINING METHODS TO BE APPLIED TO RUSSIAN ANTI-DRUG SPECIALISTS

MOSCOW, July 3 (AVN) - The Russian government endorsed the draft agreement with the UN Secretariat on implementation of the project aimed at improving professional training of Russian law-enforcemers combating illegal drugs turnover and origantised crime, the governmental information department reported on Tuesday.

The draft was proposed by the Interior Ministry and was coordinated with the Foreign Ministry, Federal Security Service (FSB), Federal Border Guard Service (FBGS), state customs committee and Ministry of Justice.

The assistance in training of officers on modern international methods and by foreign specialists will take place in the international interdepartmental centre for training specialists of anti-drug and anti-mafia departments.The centre is being established by the Interior Ministry, FSB, FBGS, state customs committee and law-enforcement bodies of the CIS member nations. It is based at the Interior Ministry's all-Russia refresher institute.

The project will be launched this year and take 24 months to complete.
